Minutes from May Board Meeting: any additions or corrections.
- Motion to approve minutes from May Board meeting as corrected.

Reports:

President’s Report: Mary
- Room bookings for 2027 - updates and confirmation of contracts, so far.
- - Two room reservations for this year were cancelled - July 8th and September 9th - because Harriet needed to change the training session from September to August. The July date was a ‘just in case’ for training and not needed.
  - Club check for $250.00 sent to Save Mt. Diablo. Thank you Adrienne for handling this and setting the date for our 2027 work day, which is May 5, 2027.
  - We worked at the Club Fair on June 4th., passing out information about membership and club activities. Helpers at our table were Kris Carey, Lori MK, Ellen, Mai Tran, Sadako Urabe, Lois Zell, Nancy Verner and Mary. Many thanks to all of you for getting the word out.
  - The Board voted to purchase a club tile for $500.00 to go in the new Ceramic Club mural. Lori Wong and Nancy Yu are following up on the design and Lori selected our tile’s location on the mural.
  - Follow up on our recognition of Mark Forrette’s work for the club. Thanks to Adrienne for sending our gift to Lynne in Mark’s memory. Lynne organized Mark’s memorial which was held August 6th.
  - Agenda items for our Annual meeting being prepared by Mary - so far:
  - - the slate of new Board members to be voted and approved.
    - Budget for 2027 to be voted on and approved.
    - 501 (c) (7) status of the club added to the By-laws.
Vice-President’s Report: Lori Wong
- Selection committee for Board positions for 2027.
- Budget committee for 2027.
- Update on Ceramic Club tile project
Treasurer’s Report: Al Peters
- Motion to approve report as presented.
- Status of our club is now a 501(7) (c) Social Club. Thanks to Al for pursuing and completing all the paperwork.

  - Note - cancellation of the Last Hike Picnic was approved by the Board. Mary sent thanks to Gloria and Dave Kern. They had been the hosts for this event for 10 years.

Hike Leader Training and First Aid Class (August 18, 2026)

Club members are invited to the Hike Leader Training and First Aid Class:

When: August 18, 2026, 4:00 PM
Where: Club Room, Gateway Clubhouse

Registration is limited to the first 40 respondents.

New members and those who have rarely or never led a hike are strongly encouraged to attend.

Please bring something to drink and a pen. Light refreshments will be served.

Members are asked to bring their own table cloth (if desired), plates, cups, utensils, and (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) beverage of choice. Each attendee should also bring a course to share with 8 others (couples should bring food for 16), with a list of ingredients, according to these guidelines:
