Trail Steward Role

  • Provide the Trails Club Board with progress reports as to Trail Maintenance activities.
  • In conjunction with the Board, schedule 2 Trail Maintenance and Development workdays during March/April.
  • Communicate via e-mail to all members outlining Trail Maintenance events and recruiting volunteers.
  • Work cooperatively with Mutual Operations Landscape Manager. Request  the assistance of a landscaping crew to assist with the trail maintenance.
  • Inspect Trails and signage and make a prioritized list of recommended projects to the Board.
  • Coordinate the efforts of The Trail Dogs and Trails Club Members in the rehabilitation of old trails within Rossmoor.
  • Participate in and provide leadership to the Golden Rain Foundation trail development project and other issues that may occur.
  • Participate in annual planning to insure that needed funds will continue to be made available to support trail maintenance and development.
  • Assign volunteers into crews for various projects, coordinate parking and assemble tools for Trail Projects. 
  • Orient volunteers to project objectives and demonstrate trail maintenance techniques and safety procedures.
