NEW BUSINESS: Anne

State of the Club
Positives
Membership continues to grow and the Club remains financially secure.
New Support volunteers have jumped right into their roles
Joanie Boyle, Registrar
Mollie Clopp and Kathy Devine, Event Coordinators
Ellen Gilman, Rossmoor News liaison
Rich Kinsey taking on Calendar Coordinator role
Lori Miller-Klein will begin New Member Coordinator role in January
Strong leadership team elected for 2025.
Safaris and social events continue to be popular
We now have a sign to promote where and when hikes start
Concerns
Indications of need to re-shuffle groups
% of members identifying as Amblers has increased leading to mobility and agility issues (drivers and increased need for flatter walks).
Trekkers are still struggling
Doug Lins led (40)+ hikes as of early October
Experienced hike leaders are aging
Website and data collection initiatives have stalled
No ability to send texts yet
No method for easily quantifying who is leading and hiking and where
No searchable hike database other than AllTrails
Events continue to take disproportionate time and resources
$ could be spent:
reimbursing hike leaders for scouting mileage and Safari leaders for scouting accommodations and mileage
Agility, pole and trail map training (with Tice Valley Gym ?)
Handing off the Gavel
