Join us on the coast for the Fall Safari! 

  • Wonderful coastal and inland hikes! (leaders needed).
  • Whale and Monarch butterfly sightings possible!
  • All the pleasures of Pacific Grove and Monterey - fine dining, shopping, touring (Pebble Beach Golf Resort, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Carmel-by-the-Sea and more).
  • Lodging will be at Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove.
    • A wide variety of room types (sleeping 2 - 4 people)  are currently available with prices currently ranging from $208 per night and up depending on the number of occupants, room size and discount rate you opt for.
  • Meals are on your own. The Crocker Dining Hall and Phoebe's Cafe are on site as well as lots of great restaurants in the Pacific Grove and Monterey area. Asilomar rooms do not have microwaves or refrigerators. 

If you are interested, register with the Trails Club today to receive additional info about lodging and so we can get an estimate of attendees. Registration deadline is September 8th.

Proposed Schedule:

Tuesday, Oct 8 (Check-in time is officially 4:00)

An easy hike along the Asilomar State Beach & Coastal Trail beginning at 2:00 followed by Happy Hour at 5.

Wednesday & Thursday, Oct 9 - 10

Ambler/Rambler, Rambler/Trekker and Trekker/Scrambler hikes will continue Wednesday and Thursday followed by Happy Hour at 5:00 each day.

Friday, Oct 11 (Check out is 11:00)

The CA State Park Service offers a free lecture on 100 years of Asilomar History starting at 10:00 AM for anyone interested in attending before they head back to Rossmoor.
