Review of January minutes:
Corrections to minutes:
1. Al Peters -
“We are registered with the IRS but not the California Secretary of State. The action is to register with the state. I know this is confusing. California has no records that we exist.
Annually I file a federal tax return. We need to apply to California as a 501(c)7 organization.”
Approval of motion to apply for CA 501(c)7 status.
2. Many thanks to Marcy Weisshar and Gloria Reid for pulling off our Chili Party. It was a delightful occasion in spite of various issues such as the new alcohol policy. We couldn’t put on our social events without all the help from our hardworking volunteers.
Motion to approve January Minutes with corrections approved.
BOARD REPORTS:
Treasurer's Report: Al Peters
"Poppy Bank informed me that our account requires two signatures for checks over $1,000 (like the payment for the CPR & 1st Aid class). I wrote a check for more than that amount for the CPR class. I authorized payment.
Do we want to keep that requirement, increase the limit or do away with it? The Board should take a vote in any case so we are on record as to what our current policy is."
Motion to remove two signature requirement for checks over $1,000 approved.
