Attend Board meetings and report to the Board as needed
Maintain a list of the hike mentors representing each hiking group.
Publicize the need for new hike leaders and mentors by speaking at the annual meeting, sending e-mails to and providing the Quarterly Captains with names of those in the group who haven’t led hikes.
Encourage club members who have never led a hike or who still need assistance in leading a hike, to sign up for a hike they want to lead on the Hike Calendar and offer the hiking group mentors for assistance if desired.
Solicit and maintain a list of hike mentors from each hiking group who have volunteered to help prospective new hike leaders to select and to scout a hike. This hike mentor will also be present on the selected hike day to help support the new leader as needed during the hike.
Contact the Membership chairperson and obtain a list of new members and the date they joined. Speak with Quarterly Captains to learn which members are hiking but have not signed up to lead a hike. It is not necessary to contact members who never hike.
